The business of warm clothes has increased in Sunsari due to the extreme cold. According to Shambhu Mehta, a trader of Inaruwa-1, Sunsari district headquarters, the trade of garments including quilts, duvets, cotton, woolen shirts, kurtas, hats, and blankets has increased.
Its turnover has increased as people need warm clothes to avoid the cold. According to the Inaruwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, warm clothes worth Rs 5 million are being sold daily in the district headquarters Inaruwa alone. According to the traders, the daily pressure of the service recipients is increasing in about 100 clothing shops.
Similarly, sales of readymade garments like jackets, sweaters, collars, hats, tracksuits, trousers, jumpers, etc. have also increased.
According to the businessmen, the need for quilts inside the house has increased in winter and the number of people coming to make quilts and buy cotton has also increased. According to the traders who have been making blankets and mattresses in Inaruwa, from the second week of last year till now, they have been making three to 10 blankets daily. Local consumer Mandeep Kumar Sah said that the traders have also increased the prices as the demand has increased during the cold season.
