Stock market: Double digit decline in Nepse index

The stock market gauge Nepse index has declined by double digits. On the first day of the trading week, the NEPSE index fell by 41.43 points to 2,572.23.

 According to the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the market has declined by 1.59 per cent today as compared to the previous trading day. The Sensitive Index, which measures the trading volume of large companies, fell 1.95 per cent. Such an index has declined by 9.55 points to reach 479.39. A total of 89,23,014 shares of 232 companies were bought and sold at a price of Rs 4,989,514,416 today, according to Nepse.

The decline in share prices of all subgroups except non-life insurance

 According to Nepse, out of the total 13 subgroups traded today, the share prices of 12 subgroups have declined while only non-life insurance subgroups have risen. Non-life insurance subgroup increased by 133.35 points, banking 21.02, trade 55.82, hotel and tourism 66.42, development bank 145.68, hydropower 76.06, finance 62.25, manufacturing 145.79, others 93.65. Microfinance declined by 39.71 points, life insurance by 98.61 points, collective investment funds by 0.13 points and investment by 1.37 points.

 API Power Company tops the list in terms of turnover in today's market. The company had a turnover of Rs. 275.67 million. Similarly, shares of Gunras Life Insurance amounted to Rs. 175.11 million, Everest Insurance Company amounted to Rs. 163.147 million, Surya Life Insurance Company amounted to Rs. They are in the top five with equal turnover.

 The share price of Jeevan Vikas MFI has risen 10 per cent in today's trading. Shares of Emerging Nepal Limited rose by 9.99 per cent, Rashtra Utthan Microfinance by 9.99 per cent, Sanima General Insurance by 9.67 per cent and General Insurance Company by 9.65 per cent. The share price of Multipurpose Finance Company has dropped by 5.5 per cent. Shares of Narayani Development Bank fell by 5.25 per cent, Nerude MFI by 4.86 per cent, Manjushree Finance by 4.81 per cent and United Modi Hydropower by 4.68 per cent.
