The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) and Digital and Beyond Pvt. Ltd. have reached a pact to develop digital teaching method in community schools.
The agreement was signed by Ramprasad Subedi, the Head of the Education Department of the KMC, and Sagun Dhungana, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Digital and Beyond Pvt. Ltd. in presence of Deputy Mayor of the KMC Sunita Dangol and Chief Administrative Officer Basant Adhikari and Education Advisor Reshu Aryal. Digital and Beyond is Google’s partner organization in Nepal and South Asia.
According to the agreement, Digital and Beyond Pvt. Ltd. will provide free support services, including facilities, operation and management training from Google for educational activities to the KMC for the next two years. Digital and Beyond will assist in developing digital capacity of teachers for teaching and learning in public schools and make teaching-learning management technology-friendly.
CEO Dhungana, while giving digital presentation, said, “If you start searching on the web, there are a lot of learning materials. It is difficult to say which content is appropriate and which not. We conduct programmes to enable students to think critically and creatively without creating pressure based on the materials they need.”
