Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Jeevan Ram Shrestha has inspected the Pashupatinath temple area. He reached various places in Pashupati area and took information about the situation and management there. Minister Shrestha also instructed the Pashupati Area Development Fund to pay attention to the cleanliness of the heritage site, Vishwarup Temple, Mrigasthali, Shlehmantak Forest, various monasteries, stupas, sattals, etc. which are being reconstructed and to make all arrangements for the convenience of devotees, pilgrims, pedestrians and tourists.
He also inquired about the condition of reconstruction of Lichchavi period Vishwarup temple located in Mrigasthali area. Stating that Pashupati area of cultural and archaeological importance is like an open museum, Minister Shrestha said that attention should be paid to safety, conservation and sanitation. He instructed to provide easy services by managing ghat, water, electricity and public toilets.
Dr. Milan Kumar Thapa, member secretary of the fund said that the government has considered the Pashupati area improvement program as a project of national pride and accordingly, the Pashupati area's major improvement program and reconstruction work is underway. He also informed Minister Shrestha about other activities of the fund.
