KATHMANDU: An earthquake occurred in Kathmandu last night, according to the National Seismological Center.
A magnitude 2.6 quake struck Kirtipur at 10:46 PM on Thursday.
Residents across various areas of Kathmandu shared their experiences of the tremors on social media.
Although the earthquake was relatively minor, the tremors were felt significantly in Kathmandu and nearby districts due to the epicenter's location.
Earlier that same day, a stronger 4.2 magnitude earthquake had struck the Annapurna region, near the border of Kaski and Manang, at 10:13 AM.
The tremors experienced in Kathmandu last night were particularly notable, representing the first significant seismic event in the region in a while.
