Police arrested five Chinese nationals involved in gambling offences from Thamel in Kathmandu Metropolitan-25 on Wednesday night. They were nabbed from a hotel owned by He Xiaolomg.
One of the arrested has been identified as He Xiaolomg with Chinese passport number E 99833123 while the names of the other four have not been disclosed.
Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Lainchaur-based Metropolitan Police Circle nabbed them. The police also recovered Rs 123,000, an electric table, and 210 plastic coins. The police also seized gambling cards from them.
Similarly, Bhaktapur police arrested six gamblers from Suryabinayak Municipality-7 on Wednesday night.
One of the arrested has been identified as Sanjiv Wagle, a local resident of the same municipality. Wagle is the owner of Inn hotel in Ghyampedada.
Acting on a tip-off, Jagati-based Metropolitan Police Circle nabbed them from Wagle's hotel.
The police also seized Rs 58,200 and one deck of cards from their possession.
Meanwhile, police arrested five people involved in gambling offences from Tulasipur Sub-Metropolitan-10 in Dang district.
One of the arrested is Saran Shrestha (34), a local resident of the same sub-metropolitan while the names of the other five have not been disclosed.
Acting on a tip-off, joint security personnel deployed from the Dang-based District Police Office and Tulasipur-based Area Police Office personnel nabbed them from Jhaggu Prasad Bhudhathoki's residence in Gaurigaun.
The police recovered Rs 147, 125, and three decks of cards from their possession.
Further investigation into the cases is being carried out, said the police.
