Police arrested five persons allegedly involved in gambling in Gokarnashwor Municipality-6, Kathmandu district, on Wednesday.

One of the arrested has been identified as Om Tamang (27) of Panchpokhari Rural Municipality-4 in Sindhupalchowk district, currently residing in Narayantar, Gokarneshwar Municipality-6.

Acting on a tip-off that some people were gambling at the rested room of Tamang, a team deployed from Boudhha-based Metropolitan Police Circle (MPC) reached the site and arrested them.

Police also seized Rs 359,700 and three packs of playing cards from their possession.

Further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
