Minister for Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand went to the Pashupatinath Temple and worshipped Lord Shiva on the occasion of Mahashivaratri today.
The Home Minister also acquired information on the security situation of the Pashupati area after worshipping at the Temple.
There are crowds of devotees at the temples and shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva throughout the country, including at the Pashupatinath Temple, since the morning today on the occasion of Mahashivaratri. The devotees have turned up to worship at Pashupatinath from 3 am.
The four doors of the temple were open for the devotees since 3 am. The Temple would be kept open for the devotees to worship and pay homage until late night today, the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT), the body responsible for the management of the Pashupati area, a world heritage site, said.
