Inebriated man held for manhandling police in Bhaktapur

Police arrested a man on the charge of manhandling security personnel deployed at Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-5 in Bhaktapur, on Monday night.

The arrested has been identified as Dhruba Basnet (33) of Gaurishankar Rural Municipality-2 in Dolakha, currently residing in Chardobato, Thimi.

Basnet, under the influence of alcohol, was making a lot of noise, according to police. After knowing about the incident, security personnel deployed from Madhyapur Thimi reached the site and tried to stop him from creating a ruckus. However, Basnet verbally abused the police personnel and even tried to assault them.

Basnet has been taken into police custody while investigation into the case is underway, informed police.
