Banchare Danda Sanitary Landfill Site Project under the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction has requested the Kathmandu Metropolitan City to stop the operation of garbage transport vehicles for at least one week.

The Department has requested to stop the operation of the garbage transportation vehicles for a week, saying that the road maintenance and up gradation work has been affected by the garbage transportation vehicles.

Ravindra Bohra, director of the Landfill Site Project, informed that they were asked to stop the vehicles because the road could not be constructed as the vehicles carrying garbage continued to move.

Earlier, the department had asked the Metropolitan Corporation to facilitate on July 1 and 6. According to this, the time for transportation of garbage vehicles was fixed from 4 am to 12 pm daily. But since it could not be implemented according to that, the project demands that the means of transportation should be stopped for at least one week to carry out the road construction work at a fast pace.
