KMC allocates 28 centers for Janssen vaccination campaign

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has fixed 28 centres for the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccination campaign kicked off from today.

The three-day campaign is for the people from 50-54 age group, persons with full and severe disabilities belonging to 'A' and 'B' categories, the refugees living in Nepal, and health workers and janitors who missed the previous campaigns.

 The Kathmandu Metropolis has demanded some 76,000 doses of vaccines against COVID-19 this time by analyzing the existing population size of the people belonged to the above-mentioned age group being based on the 2011 national census and the existing population growth rate, according to Metropolis Public Health Department Chief Hari Bahadur Kunwar.

The vaccine was gifted by the US Government.

Bir Hospital, Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, Civil Service Hospital, Baneshwor; Shukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital, Teku: Paropakar Maternity and Women's Hospital, Thapathali; and Kathmandu Medical College have the vaccine centers.

Similarly, the centers are stationed at Nepal Police Hospital, Panipokhari; Birendra Military Hospital, Chhauni; Peoples Dental and General Hospital, Sorhakhutte; Himal Hospital, Gyaneshwor; Community Health Service Council Dallu; Chhatrapati Free Clinic Hospital, Chhatrapati and Janamaitri Hospital Balaju.

Likewise, Manmohan Hospital, Swoyambhu; Kathmandu Model Hospital, Exhibition Road; National Hospital, Kalanki; Hams Hospital and Research Center, Dhumbarahi; Shahid Gangalal National Heart Center, Bansbari; National Hospital Kalanki; Ramghat Primary Health Center, Gaushala; Kantipur Hospital Tinkune; Radhaswami Isolation Center, Basundhara and Jana Kalyan Secondary School have also served as the centers for Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Naradevi Ayurved Hospital, Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Hospital Basundhara, Nepal India Friendship Hospital, Chabahil; Metro Hospital, Narayan Gopal Chowk; Era International Hospital, Sorhakhutte and Helping Hands Hospital, Chabahil are also the vaccination centers.

The Kathmandu Metropolis has so far administered the full-dose anti-COVID-19 vaccines to seven per cent of the population while 16 per cent have been given the first shot.
