Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has begun imparting training to the instructors of Nepal language which was chosen as a local language.
The metropolis took the initiative to promote education of Nepal language.
In this connection, KMC has stepped up its preparation to appoint 172 new teachers in the schools operating under its domain. The trained teachers will be deputed to the schools for running Nepal language classes.
The Nepal Constitution-2015 has mandated local levels to arrange education of a 100-full mark subject in the local language. The KMC has chosen Nepal language for this.
Chief of KMC Department of Education, Ram Prasad Subedi shared that the metropolis has made arrangement of 172 teachers of Nepal language on own resources. Such teachers will be appointed on contract basis for a year with renewal chances.
KMC has made a preparation to appoint at least one teacher in each community school and up to three teachers based on the number of students and the need. The teaching and learning of the Nepal language will be enforced from the coming educational session in 91 community schools and 541 institutionalised schools.
There are a total of 42 thousand students in the community schools and 220,000 in the institutionalised schools in the metropolis.
