City Police of Kathmandu Metropolitan City confiscated goods from vendors operating in various sky bridge inside the KMC today. After lots of complaints about the shop operators from the pedestrians, city police conducted the routine search and confiscate action.

Lots of people get scared to cross the bridge in the evening. There are lots of local hustlers and peddlers in the bridge. It has created the serious issue in maintaining the law and order too. Local authorities must intervene quickly in solving the issue. One of the locals said that the city police action must take place regularly. Occasional screening will not solve the issue. There are calls for the separate designated place for the local street vendors. KMC Mayor Balendra Shah has already vowed to find the permanent solution of the problem. However, the tensions between locals, pedestrians and street vendors are escalating day by day.

The Metropolitan Corporation only occasionally monitors the market. Running a shop on the bridge for a long time has caused problems for pedestrians. Over the years, these bridges are not only being used as a marketplace but these places have turned into crime scene as well.
