World Environment Day 2023: #BeatPlasticPollution
Students from Maitri School in Chauni, studying in grades 8, 9, and 10, on the occasion of World Environment Day today, organized an awareness program.
The program was held in Hanuman Dhoka, Kathmandu.
Parliament member Biraj Bhakta Shrestha and Social Activist Raja Shakya were invited as special guests for the program.
More than 100 students were observed, to participate in the program.
The students conducted and gave various awareness speeches. They distributed reusable and recyclable bags to the pedestrians walking by. The students even replaced, some of the people, carrying plastic bags with those reusable bags. The students separated their own lunch pocket money, which was necessary to be used for this specific awareness program.
Mr. Ojesh Bajracharya, the Principle of Maitri School, Chauni, stated that they have been conducting such programs every year to create awareness in the public for conserving and preserving our environment.
