One arrested, two fled for fake hand sanitiser business

One person has been arrested on the charge of involvement in the production of fake hand sanitiser and other beauty products.

24-year-old Deepak Shrestha from Neelkantha municipality-4 in Dhading was arrested from Sano Bharyang of Kathmandu, whereas the other two involved in similar illegal business have succeeded in escaping , according to the Metropolis Police Range, Kathmandu.

Among the two runaways an Indian nationality Roshan Jaisawal  currently residing at Thankot was engaged in producing substandard hand sanitiser and cosmetic products by misusing the logos and brand names of several Indian companies. The police raided their station from where 200 cartoons for hand sanitiser were seized.

Jaisawal was found to have been involved in producing duplicate cosmetic products in partnership with his colleague who is also from India and Shrestha who is now in custody. They were found renting a room in Sano Bharyang and also registered a company in the name of Srinath Herbal and Cosmetic Industry Pvt Ltd.

Range Spokesperson Superintendent of Police Ramesh Kumar Basnet informed that the house where the illegal business was taking place has been sealed and the two runaways are being searched for.
