A medical oxygen plant has come into operation at Patan Hospital yesterday. Chief of Lalitpur Metropolitan City Chiribabu Maharjan and Director of the hospital Dr. Ravi Shakya jointly inaugurated the service on Friday. Maharjan, chief of the corporation, said that the corporation should also provide necessary assistance to the hospital in view of the goodwill shown by the hospital towards the patients.

Dr. Shakya recalled the grief they felt when the second wave of corona entered the country due to lack of oxygen and said that the plant would help in the treatment. Dr. Rajesh Nath Gogal, Vice-Chancellor of the Foundation, said that they served the patients as much as they could during the second wave of Covid. It was informed that the corporation had handed over a check of Rs. 10 million to the hospital for the purchase of the plant in January last year.

The capacity of the oxygen plant can produce 220 per cylinder daily.
