President Poudel inaugurated the Conference on Wildlife Conservation and Environmental JusticePresident Ramchandra Paudel said that nature conservation has become a common concern and challenge of mankind today.
President Paudel expressed this opinion while addressing a conference on wildlife conservation and environmental justice organized by the Ministry of Forests and Environment, Judges Society and National Nature Conservation Fund in Kathmandu on Saturday.
“The current world is standing at the peak of environmental challenges including climate change, and Nepal is not immune from it. National and international interest in the field of environment and wildlife protection is increasing”, he said. He said that we consider the animal and plant life as the unique biological creation of nature and it has given life to the earth.
He said that the sustainable development of the country is directly linked to nature, biological diversity and wildlife conservation.
President Paudel pointed out the need to think about how to effectively deal with the existing issues of conflict management, crime control and conservation, such as conflict between humans and wildlife, wildlife poaching, and illegal trade.
He said that due to the need for proper management, wildlife-friendly physical infrastructure, national capacity development, active state mechanisms etc., due to the increasing number of wildlife protection, the inevitability and implementation of wildlife targeted programs should be emphasized. He said that more responsibility should be taken to establish the meaning, value and recognition of coexistence between humans and wild animals.
