As the number of cholera patients has been increasing in the Kathmandu Valley recently, the sale and distribution of water-based food items has been stopped. The party has warned to take further action including fine for disobeying the order.

Chief of the Health Department of the metropolis, Balram Tripathi, informed that the department has requested the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control to check the food hygiene of hotel restaurants. He said that Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited has been requested to look into the condition of water pipeline and sewerage system.

Tripathi said that the urban health clinic and urban health promotion center have been kept in a state of readiness so that there is no shortage of life-giving water and water purification medicine.
