The prohibitory order that was supposed to end at midnight today has been extended till July 15. A meeting of the chief district officers of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur held today has decided to extend the prohibitory order.

Meanwhile, the chief district officers have issued a notice stating that the operation of vehicles based on odd-even vehicle registration number modality has also been terminated and now all private vehicles can resume operations.

The government has also decided to allow the resumption of small public microbuses and tempos. However, such vehicles will not be allowed to carry more than nine passengers. During the current prohibitory order, the government had allowed only buses with a capacity of more than 25 seats to resume operations.

The new order has also allowed people who want to come to Kathmandu to do so but people will have to first take permission from their respective District Administration Offices. However, meetings, seminars, ceremonies, sporting events, among others, where a large crowd of people could gather have still been banned during the prohibitory order. Schools have also not been allowed to conduct physical classes. However, examinations for which dates had already been scheduled after receiving permission from concerned authorities can be conducted. However, there can be no more than 25 candidates during such examination in one room.
