Niharika Rajput has broken her fast-onto-death following a three-point agreement with the government. The agreement was reached between Chief District Officer, Kathmandu, Gobinda Prasad Rijal, and Rajput on Sunday night. Rajput, who was on hunger strike for the past 17 days, broke her strike in the presence of Minister for Law Gobinda Prasad Koirala 'Bandi'.

Government advocate on behalf of the writ petitioner would as per the request of Rajput demand a DNA test in the case that is sub-judice in the High Court, Janakpur, according to the agreement.

It may be noted that Rajput, a single mother, has long been protesting and demanding justice for her and her son. She has accused one Shivaraj Shrestha of Janakpur of raping her when she was 17 years old. She gave birth to a son after becoming pregnant resulting from the rape.
