Squatters have requested the government to make alternative arrangements for them to live. The squatters on the banks of the Bagmati River today marched from Maitighar to New Baneshwor and requested the government to make alternative arrangements for them.

Speaking to the media at the event, Kumar Karki, President of the United National Squatters Front Nepal, demanded an alternative arrangement for the land he has been living in for years. "Uprising without alternative arrangements is not acceptable. It is a violation of civil rights", he said.

Under the initiative of the empowered Bagmati Integrated Development Committee, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City took dozers to demolish the slums, and an uncomfortable situation was created on the 28th of November.
