Three detained with 48 gram gold from TIA

Police arrested three people with a gold hand ring of 48 grams from Tribhuvan International Airport.

Those arrested have been identified as Mundip Bhujel (31) of Tarkeshwor Municipality-5 in Kathmandu; Krishna Bahadur Pakhrin (37) and Binod Lama (28) of Thori Rural Municipality-4 in Parsa.

Bhujel who returned from Dubai, UAE was found hiding the gold hand ring without informing in the Airport Customs. Pakhrin and Lama threatened Bhujel to hand over the hand ring to them. Police caught them red-handed from the international terminal area.

Despite the security tightened at Tribhuvan International Airport, people are freely smuggling the gold from the airport.

The arrested and seized gold have been handed over to Gaucharan-based Airport Customs Office for further necessary actions, informed TIA Security Office.
