Two Indian nationals held with Rs 9.5m sans legal source in Kathmandu

Police have arrested two Indian nationals with Rs 9.5 million for which they couldn’t reveal the source.

A team deployed from Nagdhunga-based Metropolitan Police Sector nabbed Sagar Mali (26) and Krishna Adhade (19) of Maharastra, India, with the amount on Friday night during a routine security checkup of vehicles entering Kathmandu Valley.

A press release issued today by Kathmandu Metropolitan Range mentioned that Rs 4.5 million was seized from Sagar while Rs 5 million was confiscated from Krishna.

Sagar and Krishna were travelling to Kathmandu from Chitwan in a microbus (GA 1 KHA 6645). Both of them were arrested after they failed to disclose the source of the money.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case was underway, said police.
