A ward member of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-30, Niraj Raj Satyal, passed away on Sunday night.

Elected as a ward member of KMC-30 in a local-level election held in 2017, Satyal was suffering from cancer disease for a long time.

He had started his political career at the Nepal Student Union, the sister organization of the Nepali Congress. He was also a former FSU member of Tri Chandra College.

His final rites were performed at Pashupati Aryaghat on Sunday night itself.
