On Sunday, November 20, the day of the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly member elections, internal traffic will be closed in Kathmandu Valley from 4:00 am to 7:00 pm.
The decision was taken by the joint meeting of the three major district officials of Kathmandu Valley held on Wednesday. However, the Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, Ghanshyam Upadhyay, informed us that vehicles that have received permission according to the standards set by the Commission will be allowed to move.
According to him, there will be a ban on the sale and distribution of alcohol in all three districts from November 17 to November 20 at 12 midnight targeting the elections. He said that it has been decided to stop people around the polling place until the counting is done.
The meeting decided to appoint a focal person in all the districts to keep essential services like water, electricity, ambulance, and fire brigade running in those districts during the elections.
