With the increased rate of COVID cases in the Kathmandu Valley, a new rule is being implemented from midnight. A joint meeting of the Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur on Thursday issued an order to enforce a system on public and private vehicles.
On Friday, the District Administration Office, Lalitpur, issued another statement informing how some of the vehicles will not have to follow the protocol. According to the administration, vehicles carrying medicines and health materials, ambulances, fire engines, gas, petroleum products, and vehicles carrying construction materials will move as it is.
Similarly, only drivers and co-drivers will be allowed to operate vehicles carrying food grains, dairy products, fruits, vegetables, eggs, fish meat, livestock grains, and agricultural and livestock products.
The administration has made it clear in a press release that government employees, health workers, security personnel, and employees of public institutions will be allowed to operate their vehicles with identity cards.
In the case of journalists, the Lalitpur administration has stated that the vehicles of journalists with identity cards issued by the Department of Information and Broadcasting will be able to move.
