KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court has ordered the police to take Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane into custody in connection with the Swarnalakshmi Cooperative fraud case.

The bench of District Judge Madhav Prasad Adhikari has bench ordered him to be produced before the court again on Monday and he will remain in custody.

Although Lamichhane’s statement in Adhikari’s bench ended a while ago, it is understood that the order was given to keep him in custody on the condition that he be presented in court on Monday after the detention hearing has not started.

However, since the detention hearing has not been completed, he will have to remain in custody for at least one day.
