KATHMANDU: Ambassador of Myanmar to Nepal, U Myo Myint Maung, paid a courtesy call on Vice-President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav on Monday at the latter’s office in Lainchaur.

During the meeting, the two discussed various issues including Nepal-Myanmar relations, regional and multilateral socio-economic and cultural matters.

On the occasion, Vice-President Yadav said bilateral relation between the two countries is further strengthening since the establishment of diplomatic relations in March 1960, said Yadav’s Press Coordinator Dinesh Yadav.

Recalling that both Nepal and Myanmar have been collaborating for economic welfare in the context of the least developed countries, he expressed the belief that the implementation of agreements signed between the two countries regarding trade and investment, tourism and cultural collaboration will further strengthen and expand economic cooperation in coming days.

Similarly, Ambassador Maung expressed happiness for getting opportunity to work in Nepal, saying Myanmar has utmost regard to the Lord Buddha.

“There is people-to-people relation between Nepal and Myanmar. Myanmar appreciates ‘Non-Aligned’ policy of Nepal in the regional and international forums,” shared VP Yadav’s Secretariat quoting the Ambassador of Myanmar as saying.
