Youth awards in memory of Narayangopal and Arani

The National Youth Fund has given Narayangopal Youth Music Award to musician Hari Lamsal and singer Rajina Rimal. The prize money is Rs 40,000 each and a certificate.

 The fund has given Arani's Youth Art Award to Devendra Thumkeli, Bipana Maharjan, Ishan Pariyar and Ram Prakash Shrestha. Distributing the award at a program organized here today, Senior Engineer Mohan Bahadur Kayastha expressed the belief that the diverse art culture in the diverse country would help in promoting the country's identity at the international level.

 Professor Deepak Jangam stressed on the role of artists in enhancing nationalism. Veteran artist Vijay Thapa suggested the awardee to do more research on Narayangopal and Araniko. After receiving the award established in the name of national luminary Araniko, the award-winning creator Thumkeli expressed the view that he has a deep responsibility to work for the further development of the art sector.

 Speaking on the occasion in the presence of the chairman of the joint organization Shankar Pandey, the chairman of the fund Pradip Man Baidya said that the youths need to show initiative in the economic, political and social development of the country.
