KATHMANDU: This Friday, Nepalese cinemas will welcome three new films, adding fresh excitement to the box office battle. Among them, the crime thriller 11:55 has secured 60 screenings nationwide, while the social drama Draupadi will hit theaters with 45 shows. Meanwhile, Hollywood’s much-anticipated fantasy film Snow White has locked in 40 screenings across Nepal.
Despite the arrival of new films, the top spot in terms of screen count still belongs to Milan Chams’ Anjila, which dominates with a massive 140 screenings. The film, starring Anjila Tumbapo Subba, has maintained a strong presence in theaters, proving to be a fan favorite.
Other ongoing films include Hostel 3 and Outlaw, each securing 55 shows, while Rajaganj has landed 17 screenings. Hollywood’s sci-fi adventure Mickey 17, the Nepali drama Laaj Sharanam, and Bollywood’s Chhava continue their theatrical runs as well.
For 11:55 and Draupadi to leave an impact, though, they will need word-of-mouth backing to propel occupancy and maintain their box office stint. With the new weekend kicking in, there is stiff competition, and for Nepalese film enthusiasts, this is turning out to be an electrifying weekend!
