Released on Monday evening, the song shot up Nepal’s trending charts in just 90 minutes, claiming the #1 spot in the country’s YouTube music category by Tuesday afternoon.

The song is not only dominating in Nepal but is also trending internationally—15th in Australia, 8th in the UAE, 2nd in Qatar, 2nd in Malta, and 9th in Kuwait.
With a large following among the Nepali diaspora, Nepal Hanseko is gaining global traction.
The song touches on the struggles of migrant workers and will serve as a promotional track for the upcoming Nepali film Laaj Sharanam.
This marks Balen’s first music release since becoming Kathmandu’s Mayor, although the audio of the song was originally released a decade ago.
