KATHMANDU: Forbes has just out with the list of the world’s highest-paid actors of 2024, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has reclaimed the number one spot after a hiatus of four years. The actor edged out big names like Ryan Reynolds and Jerry Seinfeld, earning a staggering $88 million (with $103 million in gross earnings) in the past year. His lucrative deals for Red One and Moana 2 enabled him to reach the lofty amount.

At number two is Ryan Reynolds with earnings of $85 million ($100 million gross), and at number three is Kevin Hart with $81 million ($108 million gross). Rounding out the top ten are Jerry Seinfeld at number four, Hugh Jackman at number five, Brad Pitt at number six, George Clooney at number seven, Nicole Kidman at number eight, Adam Sandler at number nine, and Will Smith at number ten.

Strikingly, a mere three women actors featured among the top 20: Nicole Kidman, Mariska Hargitay, and Scarlett Johansson. Actor Timothy Chalamet, although he too had an incredible year, didn’t make the list as his 2024 box office smash deals were concluded last year.
A number of the stars did make enormous amounts from streaming deals as well, though, such as Brad Pitt and George Clooney, who received $35 million for Wolves. Dwayne Johnson is also going to be starring alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Emily Blunt in a Martin Scorsese movie!
