Pop sensation Ed Sheeran made history as the first international artist to headline a concert in Bhutan, and he did it with remarkable style!
On Saturday evening, the 33-year-old “Bad Habit” hitmaker performed in Thimphu, delivering a show that was truly one of a kind, drawing an audience from across the border, including a massive crowd from neighboring India.
After the event, Ed took to Instagram to express his gratitude, writing, “Honored to be the first international artist to ever get a chance to perform here. What a gorgeous place, and the people—Incredible! That was an absolute show! Such a lovely place, Bhutan!”
The experience clearly left an impact on him, and he even promised to return to pay tribute to the beautiful land and its wonderful people.
Thousands of fans filled the Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu, eager to see Ed live. Bhutan, a country with more than 700,000 Buddhist monks and a deep spiritual heritage, began to open up to the world in the 1970s. Ed’s performance marked an iconic moment in the cultural history of the nation.
As part of his ongoing Mathematics World Tour, Ed is preparing for more electrifying performances across Europe in 2025.
He kicks off the European leg in Madrid on May 5, with upcoming concerts in Rome, Oslo, Zurich, Stockholm, and Copenhagen, leading to the grand finale on September 9 in Düsseldorf, Germany.
If you’re near any of these locations, be sure to grab tickets—this promises to be a tour to remember!
