KATHMANDU: The fourth edition of the Nepal Rural Film Festival is scheduled to be held in Gosainkunda Village Municipality, Rasuwa from Baisakh 4 to 6.

According to the organizer Celebrity Nepal, the objective of the festival is to promote tourism along with bringing Nepali films to the rural market, informed the festival’s chairman Raghunath Sapkota.

According to him, the festival will include films made on original Nepali rural stories. The festival will include documentaries, short films and feature films.

Organized with the main slogan of ‘Our own village, our own place, our own language, our own film’, the festival will screen films made in rural settings for the villagers themselves.

A judging team will select the best films from the films participating in the festival and award them. Organizer Sapkota also informed that only films with original rural themes will be screened at this festival, which has been organized for the past four years.

The festival will also feature interactions, workshops and seminars on various topics.
