The grand finale of Himalaya Roadies Season 6 concluded with an electrifying moment as Joseph Sharma from Sikkim was declared the winner.
The thrilling reality show, known for its intense physical and mental challenges, saw Arvin Chand Thakuri from Banke emerge as the runner-up.
The winners were celebrated at a glittering ceremony in the capital on Tuesday evening, where representatives from Himalaya TV and title sponsor Yamaha presented the prizes.
Champion Joseph Sharma took home NPR 1 million in cash, along with a brand-new Yamaha motorcycle and an exclusive gift hamper.
Runner-up Arvin Chand Thakuri received NPR 100,000 and several gift hampers. Joseph’s victory was particularly special as he represented Team Anup Bikram Shahi, crossing geographical boundaries and becoming an icon for Roadies.
Himalaya TV Chairman Dharma Raj Bhusal expressed his excitement about how Joseph’s victory had expanded the show’s reach among Nepali-speaking communities worldwide.
“This proves that Roadies is not just a competition; it’s a movement that connects people beyond borders. With contestants from diverse regions, we are growing stronger every season,” Bhusal said, also announcing that auditions for Season 7 would begin soon.
Executive Director Shyam Kandel added that next season would feature digital auditions, making it easier for more people to participate.
Joseph’s selection highlights that Roadies Himalaya is growing beyond Nepal’s borders and expanding its community of thrill-seekers.
Adding to the excitement, Director Simos Sunuwar teased that Season 7 would feature record-breaking challenges and new twists. “Expect something never seen before. We are pushing limits to make it bigger and better,” he said.
Coach Anup Bikram Shahi, of the champion team, thanked Joseph for his trust, stating, “Joseph chose me to be his leader, and this victory is not just his, but a result of teamwork and never giving up.”
Coach Priyanka Karki reflected on her own Roadies journey, calling it a life-changing experience, while Coach Diya Maske praised the contestants for their determination and hard work.
In his post-victory media interaction, Joseph shared his future plans. “I’m going back to Sikkim to focus on javelin throw training. Competing in Roadies has made me stronger, and I’m excited for what’s ahead,” he said, showing his commitment to both sports and adventure.
This season of Himalaya Roadies featured 16 contestants who battled through extreme challenges to prove their strength, endurance, and strategy.
While host Raymon Das Shrestha and coach Laure were absent due to international commitments, former contestants attended the event, making it a grand celebration of resilience and sportsmanship.
