Singer Rajan Khatiwada has been singing Ganga Aarti in the Pashupati area for the last eight years. No matter what the weather is or whatever his personal issues are, he has never stopped singing bhajans (religious sermons and songs) during Aarti (musical worship of God). For the convenience of his work, Rajan stays at Gaurighat near the Pashupatinath temple.

When Ganga Aarti was started in Pashupati 15 years ago, Rajan’s two brothers Durga Prasad Khatiwada, Sagar Khatiwada, and some others were involved. He was studying music at the Hindu University in Banaras, India. He was assisted in this task by others. Sagar informed that the Indian police kept him under surveillance for a few hours when he brought the necessary equipment for the Aarti from India.

Due to the involvement of two brothers of the same family in such religious endeavors, Rajan was also involved in Aarti.
