Nepali actor Paul Shah faced a turbulent phase following the release of Ravayan, a movie that premiered during the Teej festival. Both a critical and commercial disappointment, the film struggled to connect with audiences, with much of the blame directed at Paul’s performance and appearance. His bearded look, combined with a wig and mustache, was heavily criticized, and many believed he was miscast in an action-oriented role.
Director Diwakar Bhattarai, known for his insightful storytelling, shared his thoughts on the matter, emphasizing that Ravayan did not play to Paul’s strengths. “Action isn’t Paul’s genre. He truly shines in romantic love stories where he forms a strong connection with the audience,” Bhattarai remarked.
