Mystery Story and Kathmandu History Reveal in ‘Khel’ Trailer

KATHMANDU: Suspense thriller movie Khel has officially released its intriguing trailer, giving a look at its dark and mysterious world. The movie is co-directed by Anurag Pradhan and Aastha Shrestha and is set to release in theatres on April 24 (Baisakh 12).

The heart-thrilling trailer has an ensemble of renowned stars like Surakshya Panta, Monika Thapa, Hena Nagarkoti, Nikita Acharya, Samapika Gautam, Mithila Sharma, Sarita Giri, and Bhola Raj Sapkota. Oozing with tension and mystery, the film spins Kathmandu’s history, old beliefs, the outbreak of a killer disease, and dark portents hanging in the form of black magic.

The trailer masterfully blends ancient artifacts, cryptic inscriptions, friendships, and mysteries—all linked to a mysterious game. Surakshya Panta’s eerie presence, Hena Nagarkoti’s quest for truth, and the enigmatic actions of Monika Thapa and Samapika Gautam heighten the suspense.

Khel is a combination of Nepali folklore, religiosity, tradition, suspense, and psychological thriller, the plot of a group of hostel students who get themselves involved in a series of mysterious and terrifying occurrences.

Directed by Sirupate Cuts Pvt. Ltd., it has been made by producers Luisraj Maharjan and Ashishraj Maharjan, and co-producers Kunalraj Gurung and Rahishraj Maharjan. The script of the movie has been done by Abhitendra and Anurag Pradhan, and the story has been penned down by Ashishraj Maharjan.

Cinematography is by Roshan Rai and Sanjay Lama, with editing by Ashishraj Maharjan. Sound design is by Bikal Pradhan, color grading is by Rajendra Moktan, production design is by Kishor Nepal, costume design is by Alex Basukala, and makeup is by Dipu Paudel, all adding to the cinematic experience of the movie. Yam Prasad Oli is the production manager.

DCN will release Khel, and Trident Concept handles its publicity design. With a captivating plot, a talented cast, and dark, suspenseful ambiance, this thriller promises an unforgettable cinema experience for Nepali cinemagoers.
