OTTplay Awards 2025: Kajol Wins Best Actress Award

KATHMANDU: The OTTplay Awards 2025 lit up Mumbai with a dazzling celebration of digital entertainment, bringing together the biggest names from Bollywood and television. Branded with the powerful tagline “One Nation, One Award,” this spectacular event honored the passion, creativity, and relentless hard work of actors, directors, and content creators who are redefining storytelling on OTT platforms. The event was blessed by the best stars, such as Kajol, Manoj Bajpayee, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Hina Khan, who lent a touch of glamour to the distinguished event.

The prime winners of the night were Kajol, who took away the Best Actress (Film) Award for Do Patti, and Manoj Bajpayee, who won the Best Actor (Film) Award for Dispatch. Sunny Kaushal was honored with the Best Actor in a Negative Role Award for his performance in Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, while Neeraj Madhav won the Best Actor in a Comedy Role Award for Love under Construction. The highly acclaimed web series Panchayat Season 3 was crowned the Best Web Series of the Year.

Other notable winners included Rana Daggubati, who won Best Talk Show Host for The Rana Daggubati Show, and The Fabulous Lives vs. Bollywood Wives, which was awarded Best Reality Show. Vedhika won Best OTT Debut (Series) for Yakshini Ke Liye, while The Roshans was honored as the Best Documentary Series. For the web series category, Aditi Rao Hydari won the Best Actress award for Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, and Raghav Juyal won the Best Actor Award for Gyrah.

Best Actor – Critics (Series) award was received by Jaideep Ahlawat for Paatal Lok Season 2, while the Best Actress – Critics (Series) Award was received by Nimisha Sajayan for Pochar. Acclaimed filmmaker Imtiaz Ali was honored with Best Director (Film) for Amar Singh Chamkila, while veteran actor Anupam Kher received the Best Actor – Critics (Film) Award for his performances in Vijay 69 and The Signature. Parvathy Thiruvothu received the Best Actress – Critics (Film) Award for Manorathangal and Her.

The highly anticipated Best Film Award was bagged by Girls Will Be Girls, produced by Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha. In the series category, Nikkhil Advani (Freedom at Midnight) and Pradeep Maddali (Vikatakavi) shared the award for Best Director (Series). Meanwhile, Sooraj Barjatya won the Best Showrunner award for Bada Naam Karenge and Bimal Unnikrishnan won the Best Non-Scripted Show award for Shark Tank.

The OTTplay Awards 2025 was a night of glitz, heartfelt speeches, and well-deserved awards, a celebration of the best digital storytelling and creators. With the streaming revolution reshaping the entertainment industry, the night proved the power of OTT in shaping modern cinema and television.
