Popular tigress dies in Pench National Park, India

Tigress, popularly known as ‘Kalarwali’, has died in Pench National Park in Madhya Pradesh, India. She gave birth to 29 cubs and was also known as ‘Super Mum’.

The 17-year-old woman had been ill for three or four days and died in Pench National Park last Saturday, according to the Madhya Pradesh-based Forest Department.

Forest Minister Dr Kunwar Vijay Shah has said that irreparable damage has been caused by the death of Kalarwali.
