Prakash Saput’s Vasant Trailer Highlights Caste Discrimination

KATHMANDU: The trailer for Vasant, directed and written by Prakash Saput, has been released and will hit the theatres on Chaitra 22. The trailer delves into the social issue of caste discrimination and sheds light on the conflicts and hardships that arise out of it.

Directed by Mohan Bik and Bindhu Bohora, the movie boasts a star-studded cast of actors including Prakash Saput, Swastima Khadka, Khadga Bahadur Pun, Prabhat Pal Thakuri, Shri Shrivanshi, Anup Baral, Prakash Ghimire, Kamalmani Nepal, Maotse Gurung, Siru Bist, Bhola Sapkota, and Vishal Pahari, among many others. The executive producers are Virendra Narayan Shrestha, Anurodh Bhattarai, and Nancy Sherchan.

Directed by Pravin Bhatt and cinematographed by Sushan Prajapati, Vasant is a compelling tale of the divide between the upper and lower castes and the rebellion that springs from this inequality. The 4-minute preview is an inkling into the spirit of the strong plot of the film, with an intent to incite sympathy from viewers towards the struggle of underprivileged communities. Not just Vasant and concord’s tale is the movie, but even the observation about how society must go through in endless struggle for discarding prejudice based on the aspect of caste.
