KATHMANDU: The much-loved song ‘Jail Pani Sahula’, which became a massive hit five years ago, now has an official sequel! Titled ‘Jail Pani Suhula: Marnu Pare Maroula’, the song was officially released on Thursday, bringing back the beloved story with a new twist.

Featuring actor Jeevan Bhattarai and actress Laxmi Bardewa, the music video explores a heartwarming love story between a teacher and an office assistant. Once again, singers Melina Rai and Bal Bahadur Rajbanshi lend their soulful voices to this much-anticipated sequel.

In the original song, the couple’s relationship blossomed, while in the sequel, they move to the city to give their love a new direction. The video has been co-directed by Jeevan and Laxmi, ensuring an authentic continuation of the story. Just like the first video, which was shot around a school in Ramechhap, its sequel was also shot there, making it nostalgic.
The song ‘Jail Pani Sahula’ helped establish Jeevan and Laxmi as a successful on-screen couple in the music video industry. Its massive success significantly increased their demand, and since then, the pair has collaborated on nearly four dozen music videos together.

The first song was a viral sensation, amassing over 25 million views, and due to the overwhelming love from the audience, the sequel was created. Actress Laxmi Bardewa, who is also directing the sequel, said the sequel is a gratitude to fans who showered the first film with sheer love and appreciation.
