Warwick Davis, the beloved British actor best known for his iconic roles in the Harry Potter saga and Star Wars, has been awarded the prestigious 2025 BAFTA Honorary Award. This accolade recognizes his remarkable career and his unwavering efforts to advocate for the rights of people with dwarfism.

Sara Putt, President of BAFTA, expressed the academy’s excitement in presenting the award to Davis, calling him “a talented, well-loved, and truly inspiring figure” who has captivated audiences for decades. BAFTA also commended Davis for his impactful contributions both on and off-screen, particularly through his advocacy work with Little People UK, an organization that supports individuals with dwarfism and their families.

At 54 years old, Davis has been a significant presence in cinema, starting his career at the age of 11 when he portrayed Wicket the Ewok in Return of the Jedi. Reflecting on the honor, Davis expressed his gratitude to BAFTA and dedicated the award to those living with dwarfism and differences, pledging to continue championing better representation and inspiring future generations of storytellers.

Davis will formally receive the award on February 16, 2025, in a ceremony hosted by actor David Tennant.
