KATHMANDU: Veteran actor Rajesh Hamal’s much-awaited comeback in Narsingha: Avatar has been postponed from its originally planned release on Chaitra 29 (April 11, 2025). Narsingha: Avatar, directed by Diwakar Bhattarai, was going to be a big film release, but now will not be coming to theaters on time—thanks primarily to Rajesh Hamal himself.

The change comes as two other highly anticipated films, Karma and Peetambar, are locked in for the same release date. Karma features powerhouse performer Bipin Karki in the lead, while Pitambar stars one of Nepal’s most sought-after actors, Pradeep Khadka. Since two big films are already scheduled for release, the crew of Narsingha: Avatar then decided to change their timing.
Hamal is quoted to have instructed the production crew to stay away from excessive competition and stated, “As we scheduled the release date last, it is apt for us to take a step back.” The iconic actor also suggested finding a more suitable solo release date to ensure the film gets the attention it deserves.

The production team, rather than seeing this as an issue, has welcomed Hamal’s advice. Now, they are reportedly eyeing Jestha 9 (May 23, 2025) as the new release date. This means Narsingha: Avatar no longer hitting the screens this year, making even more anticipation for its release.

Starring Rajesh Hamal, Niti Shah, and veteran actor Saroj Khanal, Narsingha: Avatar will be an epic experience on screen. With the extra waiting period, the fans can only hope for an even more grand spectacle when it finally hits the big screen!
