Pashupatinath is recognized as one of the holiest Hindu shrines in the world. Every evening, priests and devotees perform Aarati, one of the most important and intriguing Hindu rituals. Devotees gather to experience this ceremony, which is performed by three priests.

Priests follow the customs by lighting lamps and lanterns, ringing bells, playing classical instruments with a band, singing prayers in honour of god and chanting Vedic mantras.

These Aarati can also be a source of peace of mind in addition to their religious significance.

Aarati is performed after 6 pm every day.
