Over the years, the Indian Premier League has become a platform that not only launches careers but also revives them. Every season, there is a tale of greats making their comebacks, either for their IPL franchise or into the contention for the national side. Here are six such players from the 2022 edition.

David Warner

The legendary Aussie southpaw had a terrible IPL 2021, in which he was dropped from Sunrisers Hyderabad playing XI and stripped of his captaincy after a poor run of form. His redemption arc began from T20 WC 2021, crowned 'Man of the Tournament'. Now playing for Delhi Capitals, he has scored 427 runs in 11 innings at an average of 53.38 and with five half-centuries. His personal best score is 92*, that poetically came against his former franchise SRH.

Dinesh Karthik found himself sitting on the sidelines for a good part of his international career. His last IPL season was also average for KKR, scoring 223 runs in 17 matches at an average of above 22. Now playing for RCB, he has scored 285 runs at an average of 57.00 in 13 innings with a fifty, having stayed unbeaten 8 times. With his finishing skills, he has presented a strong case for a national comeback.

During the 2020s, Kuldeep Yadav suddenly found himself struggling to claw his way back into the national side with Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin putting up strong performances. He had terrible IPL 2020 with one wicket in four games and had to sit out throughout the next. However this season for DC, he has taken 20 wickets at an average of 19.30 and an economy of 8.45 in 13 matches, with the best of 4/14.

But in this season, he has been great with the bat, scoring 330 runs at an average of 41.25 in 13 games. Many important knocks have come out of his bat, including 70* against PBKS. With the ball, he has taken 17 wickets.

2021 was not a year to remember for this pacer, as he took only 2 wickets in eight games for SRH and also picked up an injury. However this year, he has made a comeback for his franchise and has boosted the chances of a national comeback. In 11 games, the bowler has taken 18 wickets at an average of 22.55 and an economy of 9.4. His best bowling figures are 3/10.
