Located in Tripureshwor, surgical shops got more popularity during COVID. For many years Tripureshwor has been the main area for buying and selling surgical items. 

Shiva Lamichhane who has been working as the shopkeeper in Tripureshwor for two years, says, "Due to Covid, surgical hub were also affected as we had to close down our shops. But when government allowed the medical shops to run, it helped me earn even during the lockdown." "In hospitals, they charge more money for the surgical items than local medical shops," adds Lamichhane.
