KOLKATA: A delegation from Bangladesh is coming to Kolkata to attend the Victory Day celebrations to be held in Kolkata. According to sources, they will attend the Victory Day celebrations on December 16 like other times. Bangladesh's Victory Day is on December 16.
Every year, a special event is organized at Fort William in Kolkata to commemorate the history of that day. A delegation of Bangladeshi freedom fighters attended the event. Many people from Dhaka are present. Prominent figures from the Bangladeshi diplomatic corps in Kolkata are invited.
The day of the surrender of the Pakistan Army at the end of the Liberation War is still organized with great pomp at Fort William in Kolkata. Army officers and above all, the real heroes of the war, the freedom fighters, are invited.
