Free ambulance for pregnant women and senior citizen

The ambulance service purchased by the Ghiring municipality of Tanahu will be provided free of cost to the needy pregnant women, senior citizens above 75 years of age, and those injured in the accident.

The village municipality has handed it over to Sundhara Health PostChairman Ran Bahadur Rana said that the ambulances were procured to end the compulsion to use privately operated ambulances and vehicles as there was no ambulance service in the village. The need for an ambulance was also felt in the village during the second wave of corona infection. "In the absence of an ambulance, the people's representative was also infected with Kovid in his vehicle. An ambulance was much needed as the third wave of corona had arrived," he said.

The Aanbukhaireni village municipality of Tanahu has also brought ambulance services into operation since last year. Gir Bahadur Thapa, chairman of the village municipality informed that an ambulance was procured and brought realizing the need during Covid-19. He said that the villagers will no longer have to pay expensive fees when they have to go elsewhere for health treatment.

Health department chief Agam Prasad Upadhyaya informed that the village municipality has decided to provide a free ambulances to the senior citizens. According to him, locals of Gorkha and Chitwan besides Tanahun will benefit from the ambulance service. This ambulance is operated by the government. Three more ambulances from the private sector are operating in Aabukhaireni.

Earlier, Beas Municipality of Tanahun, Bhimad Municipality, and Myagde Municipality have brought ambulance service in operation. The general public is getting service at a minimum price from the ambulance operated by the local level.
