Birgunj Metropolitan City has started free cataract treatment service with the financial and technical support of Matrika Eye Foundation. The city has stated that it will operate on about 2,500 patients in the current fiscal year 078-079 BS.
The corporation has stated that cataract patients in all 32 wards will be operated on free of cost. It is said that the mayor has already provided free eye treatment to about one thousand people from the welfare fund of the corporation.
